It feels so good to be painting for the love of it. To trust myself and let go. It is a bliss I have fought hard and stood tall for.
I knew that The Muse knew I needed to recuperate from three years of study and spend a quiet summer. A respite to get my house in order and provision align myself.
I am so grateful I took the time.
I started this Disco series of paintings in late Winter last year, while still in the Atelier. I LOVE them. They are so full of life and attitude. My painting “That Perfect Night” really broke something open for me and I am thrilled to bring that verve to the paintings.
This painting has been sitting on my easel since she came home in the Spring. We didn’t talk much, but were very aware of each other in the space.
Yesterday something shifted. I began to see the painting I wanted to make, hidden inside the canvas.
